After a long time debating with myself, I decided to pull the trigger today and change my forum software from phpBB to Simple Machines Forum. The main reason I switched software was the amount of spam I received, both posted and through reporting but the difficult installation of modifications and the not SEO friendly URL’s were other reasons.

November 19, 2009 | No Comments In a weird way I understand why spammers spam, get extra traffic to the site they are promoting or trying to get you to a site to sell you something. But why keep they trying when there 1st attempt was blocked to begin with and sometimes it’s just flat out strange what they are trying to post. And I say trying because the majority is stopped by my WordPress plugin AVH First Defense Against Spam/ November 3, 2009 | No Comments Thanks to my plugin AVH First Defense Against Spam and a honey pot I have set up with Project Honey Pot I caught my very first previously unknown email harvester.
