Finally my laptop arrived. It’s a Dell Inspiron 1720 with 4GB of memory. Currently I’m running Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) 32bits.
If you install Samba on a Ubuntu Gutsy box and you are using the Networkmanager for your network settings you are very likely to encounter the following error message when you shutdown:
CIFS: VFS server not responding
CIFS: No response for cmd 114 mid 3
It’s a bug in Gutsy and it looks like it’s a bug in Hardy as well but there is a work around. Read the rest of this entry »
You didn’t even notice I was gone, I am sure, no biggie. The reason I have been gone was the fact Ubuntu on my laptop decided I mess it up to much and therefor went on strike :).
