Thank you for this! Installed the plugin, it works but not when I choose to display a drop-down list. The items change in the sidebar widget but the central main page doesn’t load the category chosen from the list. Any ideas please? I’ve got it working as a standard list right now displaying number of posts per category.

I don’t see Subscribe to comments installed….don’t know if I will know you replied or not if you do.

I don’t see a demo for your plugin, can you add one. I poked around this site briefly, but didn’t see the plugin in action. Would be interested to see something in a blank WP install or something….

Thanks for fixing the problem so quickly! A wonderful plugin.

I think you will find that Subscribe to comments help you greatly with fostering a community on your blog if you continue to develop your plugins as time passes.

So, do you think we will be able to see a demo, or no?

  6. Peter says:

Jeff, I use the plugin on this site, it’s sorted on the count, something you can’t do with the normal widget.

I will see if I can setup a demo. Not sure how to approach this as I’m fairly new to WordPress and plugin development. It definitely is something I have to look into as I’m developing an other plugin right now and a demo of how it works would be helpful.

Sounds good, should make it easier to use and modify the cats.. Will give it a bash and let you know if there’s a prob.
I have a small blog, and there is a software package called Web Elements E-Z Tools that you may find useful. Come and check it out if you get time :-)

    Thanks

Great….if you figure something out about setting up a demo, sounds like it will be beneficial for the future too, write a comment here so I get it in my email:)

    Thanks for supplying this!
Was looking for how to do this for a while :)

I’m still receiving the “can’t go to category” error on the drop-down option of the widget, even on version 1.1. Thank you in advance–and note–I think this is a great plugin.
