My name is Peter van der Does, I was born on June 23, 1970 in the Netherlands. I have been in the computer industry for a long time but it has been hobby even longer. I got my first computer when I was 12 years old, a Texas Instrument TI-99/4A, it was on this computer I learned to program and had my very first program published in a magazine.

My first job in the computer industry was programming in Clipper, followed by a job working on a Bull DPS 9000 programming in COBOL. After several years I moved from programming to System Administration, maintaining several Novell Netware networks.

After I met my wife I moved from the Netherlands to the USA and became a stay at home dad. During this time I started programming again, PHP mostly but some shell as well.

I wrote several WordPress plugins, forked and expanded GitFlow which now is included in several Linux distributions. I still have a love for systems administration, creating packages for Ubuntu, and keeping my personal servers running smoothly.

I got back in the workforce in 2017, I started working for ONeil Interactive. We create websites for the home building industry which are written in Python and Django. Besides programming I’m also in charge of maintaining our servers and working on devops.
